5.5 X 6.5 inches and 7.5 inches tall. Made with quality and care.
If the small pot doesn't meet my expectations in the end -I just give it away (much to my wife's dismay).
- Marine Bronze nails
- Marine waterproof glue
- Cedar (one of the two best enduring woods)
- Tung Oil. At least three coats. A week between each coat.
I enjoy that no two are alike. I have no set formula. Each pot is adjusted to the grain and knot patterns of the wood. They are each so unique I name them.

This is my simple "Just-a-pot". 11X12 and 14 inches tall. Like in my creme brûlée, I only have used the finest ingredients.

- Tung Oil. At least three coats. A week between each coat.
- Osage orange pins when needed ( the other best wood for enduring)
The Just-a-pot comes with round cedar feet as well.
There is enough cured Tung Oil in it that I suspect this pot will last 30 years.

This is the Just-a-pot on roids.

- Osage orange pins when needed ( the other best wood for enduring)
- Marine epoxy on the inside. Its extreme overkill but it makes this my "100 year pot".
- Twisted sisal rope handles.
On etsy I give the options of no marine epoxy (because it is TIME consuming!) and no handles. This is the pot you will hand down to your children easily.

I like things that use the golden ratio. I try to design these around that ratio. But the real reason my pots are slightly taller than most is plant science.
My Masters degree work was in plant Molecular Biology. Lets just say I spent some passing time in the growth chambers. My major professor was from the desert region in China. Her knowledge + growing 1000s of plants in a growth chamber + growing up on a farm - made me realize that plants this size MUST drain well. Rocks and sand are not only acceptable in soil but they are a "MUST have" in great soil. Every small to Medium sized potted plant you have would do better if the bottom layer that covers the drain holes were rocks- First larger rocks. Then above them smaller pebbles. Then above that add soil, sand, pelite and more pebbles. I make my own soil. I really don't want to get into selling it but if anyone is interested I can give exact ingredients through email.
You would be AMAZED at how many plants you have had or currently have that have root damage from plugged drain holes or poor draining soil!
But the point is that the pot is slightly taller to accommodate the different layers.
